fitB4forty – Impact Challenge Check in

Been so busy these recent weeks, but as promised I am checking in with progress on the Impact Fitness Challenge that I embarked on. It has been a daunting challenge pushing myself to melt off 25 lbs in 6 weeks, and I typically wouldn’t recommend it, but I did my home work and integrated the IMPACT Training Regimen alongside a Feeding/Fasting weekly cycle which I had developed following several sound principals on fasting to trigger positive hormone responses, as well as cycling food to benefit the bodies natural response to training and resting periods (more on this in a future post…). Results so far have been AMAZING, I really couldnt have imagined this going much better…. I feel so much stronger, my body weight exercises such as pull ups have almost doubled in reps (yes, no doubt in relation to lower overall body weight), but in general just feel better/stronger/faster.
The “mid-point” check in was this past week, it is actually week 4 of 6 (so, 2/3 done really), regardless I was completely blown away to see the results. Check out the changes in the below progress sheet; 18.6 lbs dropped, 3.5″ off the waist & 4.5″ off the hips (that’s HUGE!!), arms remain the same, and my chest only sees a minimal decrease. My chief concern when entering this challenge was the potential for lean muscle loss, but those fears were washed away after completing a skin caliper test for body fat. The multiple point skin fold test revealed that I had reduced my body fat from 21% down to 16-17%, which is entirely supported by the body measures that show no real loss in lean areas.
All things considered I have to say that I am really happy with the results so far, it hasn’t been easy, but with the support of the coaches at impact as well as my fiance I have been able to forge ahead and make some real significant body composition change. And more exciting than that is the confirmation that my theory on combining fasting/feasting with training/resting over a weekly period (with a Keto/Carb cycle twist), has been proven to work successfully!
I have 2 weeks left and I am excited to see what I can accomplish by the end of this challenge, and more so, what I will continue to accomplish in the weeks, months and years to come. Not just stopping at a lean physique, I want to be functionally fit … maybe work towards a Hand Stand press? … or a Muscle Up? So pumped, I feel like everything is possible……
